Terms & Disclaimer
Updated 20 September 2026
Covers meetkurus.com — the games (Buy the Dip, The Quant, Live a Life), the lessons (the Feed and the written library), the market page, and Your Number — and the Buy the Dip mobile app.
Who you are agreeing with
Kurus is operated by Serdar Gunduz, a sole proprietor. In these terms, “Kurus”, “we” and “us” mean that operator, and “you” means the person using the site or the app. A mailing address is available on request at [email protected]. You can reach us any time at [email protected].
By using meetkurus.com or the Buy the Dip app, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use it.
Who can use Kurus
Anyone can play. The games, the lessons, the market page and Your Number need no account, and nothing about them is directed at children or designed to collect anything from them.
Anything that involves a name or an email address needs you to be 13 or older. That means: creating a Buy the Dip profile, claiming a handle on a public leaderboard, and signing up for email updates. Each of those asks you to confirm your age first. If you are under 13, play as much as you like and do not create an account, claim a handle, or give us an email address. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 13, we delete it.
If you are between 13 and the age of majority where you live, you may use Kurus with the involvement of a parent, guardian or teacher.
Accounts, handles and profiles
Everything on Kurus works without an account. A Buy the Dip profile is optional and exists for one reason: so your handle and your progress survive a lost device. It is a magic-link sign-in — you give an email address, we send a link, there is no password.
- Keep your sign-in link to yourself; anyone holding it can reach your profile.
- You are responsible for what happens under your handle.
- You can delete the account yourself, at any time, from the profile screen — and the data goes with it.
Games play with paper money — always
Every game on Kurus uses play money only. No real money is wagered, invested, won, or lost anywhere on this site. Scores, books, and finishes are points in a game. The games use market data in three different ways, and each says which it is:
Buy the Dip and Live a Life are simulations: their markets, prices, crashes, and events are invented, generated by the game. The Quant is different — it tracks real, delayed market prices, but attaches them to invented company names, and the money you manage against them is paper. A good run in any of them proves nothing about what the real market will do next.
Real market data — facts, not signals
Some pages — the market page and the live prices in The Quant and Your Number — show real public market data: prices, index levels, and history for real companies, funds, gold, and cryptocurrencies. That data is delayed, comes from third-party providers, may be incomplete, stale, or wrong, and can stop updating without notice. It is shown as fact and history for education only. It is never a signal, a rating, or a recommendation, and you must not rely on it for trading or any financial decision.
Parody, and no affiliation
The fictional companies in our games — names like Apricot, Microhard, Gaggle, Riverzon — are deliberate parody: they play on the archetype of a well-known company for comic effect. That is the joke, and it is meant to be recognised as one. Every in-game company name, ticker, logo, and headline is our own original creation; we use no real company's trademark, logo, or brand imagery, and nothing in the games is a statement of fact about any real business. Where fact pages (such as the market page) name real companies, they do so only to report public market data about them. Nothing on Kurus is affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or connected to any company we mention, real or parodied.
Not financial advice
Everything Kurus shows — game outcomes, projections, lessons, market pages, net-worth totals, "what if" scenarios — is a simplified illustration for education and entertainment. It is not financial, investment, tax, retirement, or legal advice, and it is not a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold anything. Kurus states facts, math, and history; it never tells you what to do with your money. Real markets, taxes, and life are far more complex and vary by person. For decisions about your money, consult a qualified, licensed professional. Your Number is a calculator over figures you type yourself: its total is only as accurate as your entries, and it is not a statement of your actual wealth.
Leaderboards & fair play
Leaderboards and ranked seasons are optional, and boards are public. Choose a handle you're happy to see displayed — it is shown to everyone, so do not use your full name or anything private. We may remove entries that are abusive, impersonate someone, or were produced by tampering with the game, and we may reset a board or season to fix errors or abuse.
Fair use of the service
Use Kurus as it is meant to be used. Please do not: break into, overload, or probe the service or its infrastructure; scrape it at a volume that degrades it for other people; tamper with the games to falsify scores; upload anything unlawful or abusive; impersonate anyone; or use Kurus to present itself as financial advice to someone else. We may limit or refuse service to stop any of that.
What it costs
Kurus is free. There are no ads, no purchases, no subscriptions and no in-app payments. If that ever changes, these terms and the pricing will be published here before anything is charged, and nothing you already have will be taken away or put behind a payment.
Your privacy
Kurus runs on your device, and most of what you do there stays there. The full Privacy Policy lists exactly what can leave your device — leaderboard entries you choose to make, an optional paper-book sync, anonymous usage counts — why, and how long it is kept.
Our work, and yours
© 2025–2026 Serdar Gunduz. All rights reserved. The code, design, artwork, written lessons, and overall work are original and protected by copyright. You may not copy, redistribute, sell, or create derivative works without express written permission. Teachers and students may of course use Kurus in class, project it, and link to it — that is what it is for.
Anything you submit that becomes public — a leaderboard handle, a shared run — you allow us to display and store as part of running the service. You keep whatever rights you had in it.
No warranty
Kurus and Buy the Dip are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Projections and simulations may contain errors or simplifications and should not be relied upon as accurate predictions. We do not promise the service will be uninterrupted, timely, or error-free, and market data may be delayed, wrong, or absent.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Serdar Gunduz is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any lost profits, lost data, or financial loss, arising from your use of Kurus — including any decision you make about real money. Total liability for any claim relating to Kurus is limited to the greater of the amount you have paid us (which is nothing) or US $100. Some places do not allow these limits; where that is so, they apply only as far as the law allows, and nothing here limits liability for fraud or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.
Indemnity
If your misuse of Kurus — breaking these terms, breaking the law, or infringing someone's rights — causes a claim against us, you agree to cover the reasonable costs of defending it. This does not apply to ordinary use of the service as intended.
Suspension and ending
You can stop using Kurus at any time, and delete your profile yourself from the profile screen. We may suspend or end access if these terms are being broken, if it is needed to protect the service or other people, or if we stop offering the service. If we shut Kurus down, we will say so here first where we reasonably can. The sections on liability, indemnity, intellectual property and governing law survive any ending.
Governing law and where disputes go
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute relating to Kurus will be brought in the state and federal courts located in the Commonwealth of Virginia, and you and we each consent to that venue. There is no arbitration clause and no class-action waiver here: if you have a problem, email us first — most things are a misunderstanding and we would rather fix it than litigate it. If you are a consumer, nothing here removes a right you have under the mandatory law of the place you live.
The rest
If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in force and that part applies as far as it can. Not enforcing something once does not waive it. These terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the whole agreement between you and us about Kurus. You may not transfer your rights under them; we may transfer ours if Kurus itself changes hands, and would say so here.
Changes & contact
We may update these terms; the date at the top marks the latest version, and continuing to use Kurus after a change means you accept it. If a change materially reduces your rights, we will make that clear on this page rather than quietly restating it. If you believe anything here infringes your rights — including a trademark or copyright concern — email [email protected] and we will respond promptly.
