Buy the Dip · The Rulebook

How to play Buy the Dip

One button, one thumb, one rule: buy low, sell high — if you can. A price tape streams across your screen; tap to buy, tap to sell. That is the whole game, and this page is everything the tape won't stop to explain.

The trade

The line is a live price. Tap BUY to go all-in, tap SELL to cash out. Buy the dips, sell the rips. Nail a buy within 1% of the local low and a PERFECT DIP boosts your combo — the game is teaching your thumb what a bottom feels like.

The news

Headlines tease before they hit: earnings, FDA calls, short squeezes, SEC probes. Then the price gaps. Profit banked in the ×2–×3 window after news pays big — hold through the reveal for multiplied profit, or sell early and stay safe. Chain wins into combos; three escalating wins spark a SURGE that slows time.

The route

Each trading day is a 45-second level: one fictional ticker with a personality ($STEDY is sleepy, $YOLO is a menace) and a profit TARGET to beat before the closing bell. Clear 3 days to escape each district, five districts to finish a season. Fall to 40% of your start and it's a MARGIN CALL — the tape doesn't care.

The Daily Dip

DAILY DIP is 24 hours of crypto in about 4 minutes — five sessions from the Asia open to the 3am degen hour, drawn as real candlesticks, and the same tape for everyone on the planet that day. Pick your leverage (1×, 2×, 5×): bigger swings, closer liquidation line. Your first finished run is your ranked run — one shot a day, extra laps are practice. Survive to the 3am close and the day pays +5 REP; streaks pay more, and the desk covers one missed day per week. Share your close and the link carries your run — whoever opens it plays the exact same market against your number.

The aura

Every campaign day you clear pays one FAVOR — a permanent edge for the rest of the run: cheaper losses, longer hot windows, an extra life. They stack, and your aura rides the top of the screen; tap it any time to see what each Favor is doing for you. PASS a day and you forfeit that day's Favor.

Live Duel

One tape, two traders, best of five. Make a room and hand a friend the four-letter code, or take quick match and get paired. Same candles on both screens; whoever reads them better takes the round.

Honest by design

Every ticker is fictional. Every dollar is game money. Nothing here is financial advice and nothing connects to real markets or brokerages — this is an arcade about instinct: what a dip feels like, what leverage costs, why the combo you're protecting is changing how you trade. When you want the real thing explained straight, the money lessons below are the same house, without the arcade.

Frequently asked questions

Is Buy the Dip free?
Yes — free, no ads, no in-app purchases. It runs in the browser and as a mobile app. Every ticker is fictional and every dollar is game money.
What is the Daily Dip?
One 24-hour crypto tape in ~4 minutes, same seed for everyone on the planet each day. Your first finished run is your ranked run — one shot a day. Share your close to challenge a friend on the exact same market.
How does leverage work?
Pick 1×, 2× or 5× before the run. It multiplies every swing and pulls the liquidation line closer — cross it and the run ends instantly. The tape is identical either way; leverage only changes what it does to you.
What is a margin call in the game?
Fall to 40% of your starting cash in a campaign day and the run ends. Losses compound against you; the tape does not care about your plan.
Is this real trading?
No. Fictional tickers, simulated tape, zero real money, not financial advice — the honest version of what a dip feels like, without the part where it costs you rent.
